Beware of the sugar everywhere. It is hidden in some cases. Sugar is everywhere around you. This could be seen directly in the food like cereals, cookies, cakes and candies. Food such as spaghetti sauce and canned soup also carry heavy sugar in them. Although carbohydrates and sugars play important role in balancing the body, hidden source of sugar may bring danger to the diabetic person. There are certain sugar that are “ose” (as in sucrose) which can be find in many foods
- Lactose
- Maltose
- Fructose. Even though this doesn’t affect blood sugar as compare to sucrose it is labeled as simple carbohydrate, and
- Glucose or dextrose
Even more furtive are the “ols” (as in sorbitol), they are sugar alcohols and usually found in chewing gums and mouth fresheners.
- Xylitol
- Sorbitol
- Mannitol, and
- Maltitol
Kindly confirm anything before eating that it is not containing “ose” or “ol” as they may contain sugar one or the other way.
Ayurveda believes that taking diet that decreases the Kapha Dosha and Vata Dosha together is good. Don’t go for milky products in excess. Stop eating ghee in large quantity. Ayurveda recommends the daily and seasonal routine to remain healthy.
