This infection is contagious and spreads rapidly. Air is the main medium. Ayurveda refers this as Kapha Dosha vitiation. Excessive intake of cold drinks or ice creams is major. Being in cool atmosphere like air-condition or change in weather like cloudy or winter may shoot up this trouble to an individual.

Eating too much dahi (curds), butter milk may also cause this. One who travels a lot especially on two wheelers in open air is prone to have this. Dryness of mouth or nose is the prior stage of cold.

Transmission of the cold

This is considered to be most contagious disorder in the world. It is always bound to have cold if your mate is suffering from the cold. The spreading of this symptom is extremely rapid and is quite difficult to resist.

One can get infection by cold viruses by either of these ways.
