Causes of acne

Heredity

Yes, it runs in families. The blood received by mother and genes received by father transfers the causative factors for the pimples. This could be one of the major causes. Ayurveda describes this as janmabala pravritta (coming by birth but expressed later).

It is believed that the blood which is received by the mother is vitiated from the birth itself has the factors which give rise to pimples but only in adolescence.

Food

Certain Pitta vardhaka and Kapha vardhaka (the items which aggravate Pitta Dosha and Kapha Dosha) give rise to this situation. Spicy food, oily food, excess in non-vegetarian diet etc give rise to pimples. The food that makes constipation also produce pimples. Junk food is also responsible factor.

Certain food that is allergic to a person for instance eggs, may produces skin rashes or pimples all over the body.

Normal Process

It is quite noticeable that a girl whose menstrual period is nearer may produce pimples. Ayurveda believes that this is showing heat and nothing else. Once the cycle period is over, comparatively pimples go off from the face.

When one enters into puberty or adolescence, there are many changes in the body namely chemical, hormonal and many more. This is natural change and ends up in producing pimples. Some research shows that the hormone testosterone which is produced in both the genders could produce acne.

Atmosphere

The surrounding that contains pollution, dirt, grime or other harmful airy particles get seated into small pores or body’s micro channels those are opened so skin.

The sweat gland or oily gland produces sebum (a sticky substance) gets accumulated under the skin as the channels are blocked by those particles. Ultimately ends up into swelling. This invites bacteria to locate and finally pimple is produced.

Hygiene

Improper washing of face or irregularity washing face may give rise to pimples. Washing removes the dirt from the face and opens up the micro channels clearing the way for the sebum to expel out of the skin.

Its quite usual that we forget that our hands are usually dirty but though we touch our face very frequently. When the sweat troubles us on the face wiping with bare hands is one of the major factors that give rise to have pimples. One should always use clean handkerchief for the same. The face can be washed whenever one feels that there is sweating or the dirt accumulating on the facial area.

After washing one has to rub gently with the clean cloth. Dirty and wet cloth may cause pimples. The cloth should be kept separate from the daily usage. This is to be washed regularly preferably with hot water and antiseptic liquid.

Cosmetics

Using greasy, oily and muddy face packs are main causative factor for acne. These type of cosmetics block the channels or the pores and make a jam under the skin. The bodily waste material cant be removed by means of perspiration. The body reacts towards the waste material present just under the skin and sequel to that one produces pimples.

The cosmetics containing the harmful chemicals may irritate the skin and produce the pimples. There are plenty of face packs and face creams available in the market and are to be chosen with care keeping the harmful chemicals in the mind. Usage of randomly selected soap also may spoil the skin. Changing the brand of the soap makes the skin disturbed as it may not get easily adjusted to the newer brand.
