Gastric ulcers
When the ulcers are formed due to untreated acidity in the stomach, it is labeled as gastric ulcers. The symptoms include severe burning sensation and totally intolerance to spicy or sour tasted food materials. The person gets gastric cramps and bends forward whenever suffered. There will be sour eructation during episode.
Gastritis
Gastritis literally means the inflammation or reddish swelling of gastric mucosa. The inner wall of stomach gets affected and hence gets swollen. This is due to continuous irritation of gastric juices, acids, enzymes etc. The symptoms include loss of appetite, pain after having food especially heavy meals, nausea and sometimes vomiting.
Heartburn
As described earlier, when the stomach content moves to upwards direction i.e. esophagus –food pipe, it affects at the breastbone region affecting the area of heart at right side. This is a general term being medically known as pyrosis. This increases even more if one sleeps immediately after having food especially if slept left sided.
GERD
This is known as gastro esophageal reflux disease or acid reflux. This is the condition in which the content of the stomach comes back into the food pipe and finally partially into the mouth. This liquid is usually acidic and may burn or damage the food pipe. Pepsin and bile content are not uncommon to come back into the food pipe as the reflux. Acid is considered as most injurious component to any of the organ other than the stomach which has the structure that protects it from acid. There is possibility of developing the inflammation and damage to the esophagus due to the backflow of the acid secretion.
Transmission of acidity
This is not a contagious disease. This comes under digestive system disorder and depends on the personal life style and diet pattern.
